Role overview

As a senior corporate brand consultant at Firstwater, you will be instrumental in shaping, executing, and managing transformative brand strategies for global organisations, government entities, and purpose-driven businesses. This is not a conventional branding role—our consultants are strategic advisors who challenge norms, uncover hidden value, and design brands that create measurable business and societal impact.

You will work alongside C-suite executives, marketing leaders, and innovation teams to elevate brand perception, drive stakeholder engagement, and ensure long-term brand equity.

 

Key responsibilities

Strategic brand leadership

  • Lead the development, articulation, and execution of high-impact brand strategies that align with business objectives and stakeholder aspirations;

  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior executives, guiding them on brand positioning, corporate reputation, and market differentiation;

  • Develop multi-stakeholder brand frameworks that balance commercial success with sustainability, social impact, and innovation.

Brand execution & transformation

  • Oversee the implementation of brand strategies across all digital, physical, and experiential touchpoints;

  • Ensure brand consistency and elevate the organisation’s presence across internal and external communications;

  • Guide teams on brand storytelling, employer branding, and customer engagement strategies.

Market & stakeholder intelligence

  • Conduct deep-dive market research, competitor analysis, and cultural audits to identify opportunities for differentiation;

  • Develop insights on industry shifts, consumer behaviour trends, and global sustainability movements to inform brand evolution;

  • Apply Firstwater’s Brand Clarity Indicators to ensure strategic alignment with corporate purpose and long-term impact.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with business development, marketing, HR, and innovation teams to integrate brand strategy into company-wide initiatives;

  • Align brand positioning with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability commitments;

  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to thought leadership in the brand strategy space.

Performance & impact measurement

  • Define and track Key Brand Indicators (KBIs) to measure brand effectiveness beyond conventional marketing metrics;

  • Develop dashboards and reporting structures that capture brand performance, stakeholder sentiment, and engagement levels.

 

Who you are

Essential qualifications & experience

  • 10+ years of experience in brand strategy, corporate branding, or consulting, preferably within a brand consultancy, global corporation, or high-growth business;

  • Deep understanding of brand positioning, strategic storytelling, and business transformation;

  • Track record of working with C-suite leaders, policymakers, or high-profile brands to shape their strategic pathways;

  • Strong analytical skills—ability to translate data into compelling brand insights and business strategies;

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders;

  • Experience leading teams, managing multiple projects, and driving brand-led change.

Preferred skills & expertise

  • Expertise in purpose-driven brand-building, sustainability, and ESG;

  • Knowledge of digital brand ecosystems, AI-driven brand analytics, and customer experience strategy;

  • Familiarity with corporate governance, risk, and reputation management from a brand perspective;

  • A passion for driving conscious capitalism and reshaping industries for the better.
